Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He was a character in the drama series The Killing. Copenhagen mayoral election candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing, Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he took home the Reumert Prize of Honour At 27 years old He attended the National Theatre School of Denmark where he was graduated in the year 1995. Apart from his role in The Killing, [1] he also appeared in Borgen III, a Danish drama that was widely popular. He also played a lead part in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American TV show House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. In 2018 he was honored with an International Emmy Award. His part in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje earned him an International Emmy Award. The show aired in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm.
