Time magazine listed her as one of the top 100 influential people in the world in 2005 and in. Forbes also named her one the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World in the year 2019. In 2021, Forbes named her the most powerful actress in the world with an estimated fortune of $400 million.Witherspoon began her acting career as a teenagerand made her debut on screen in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, the actress made her name with her supporting role in Cruel Intentions. She was also famous for her portrayal of Tracy Flick as Election's black comedy. Elle Woods, a comedy comedy (2001) and its 2003 sequel, gained her wider recognition. She also starred in Sweet Home Alabama (2002), a romantic comedy. She was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. Following a dip in career, in which her sole box-office success was Water for Elephants (2011). Witherspoon returned to the screen by producing and starring in Wild (2014). She got an additional Academy Awards nomination for Best Actress. Since then, she's been involved in a majority of television productions and has appeared in a number of female-led literary adaptations. These include Big Little Lies (2017-2018), The Morning Show (2019-20), as well as Little Fires Everywhere (2020) which are all HBO dramas.
